  • Purpose:

    To administer the K1W community forest tenure.
  • Services:

    Development of blocks for timber harvest, Field assessments, SARA Permit applications, seed collection, seedlings grown at nursery, planting of whitebark pine.

    • Forester RPF- SARA permit acquisition
    • Layout Crew – SR & JR Forest Technicians
    • Nursery – Growing the WBP seedlings
  • Outcome:

    To align timber harvest block development with the Whitebark Pine recovery strategy. Successfully collect WBP seeds and grow potentially rust resistant WBP seedlings for the purpose of planting them in the K1W community forest to align with the WBP recovery strategy. Potential long term future monitoring and research of these whitebark pine seedlings.
